The brow bar carries the load
A tension bar spans both rims and feeds straight into the temple. Weight travels across the top of the frame, not through the bridge. That's why thin metal here doesn't behave like thin metal elsewhere.
Etched, not printed
The name is lasered into the temple blade — recessed, tonal, no ink. Sunscreen, saltwater and six summers can't lift it, because there is nothing sitting on top to lift.
UV400 is a lens, not a size
Small lens, full-spectrum block to 400nm. Protection is a specification of the lens material — it has nothing to do with how much of your face is covered.
Neutral density, zero cast
Flat grey-black. No gradient, no blue tint, no seasick green. Colours arrive the way they left. The gold catches the light; the lens stays honest.

How fast does it actually ship?
Dispatched within 24 hours on business days. You get a live tracking number the same day it leaves — not a "processing" email that goes quiet for two weeks. Nobody will ask you for anything on arrival.
Will the gold flake or turn my skin green?
No. The finish is multi-pass and sealed, not a single spray coat, and the branding is etched into the metal rather than printed on top — so there is no surface layer waiting to peel. Sunscreen, sea water and sweat are all fine. Rinse, dry, and they look identical next summer.
Thin metal. Are these fragile?
The brow bar is structural. It spans both rims into the temple, so force distributes across the top of the frame instead of concentrating at the bridge — which is where cheap wire frames fail. The hinges are spring-tension, so they flex outward instead of snapping when you pull them off one-handed. Sit on them and you'll still lose. Nothing survives that.
Are they too small for a wider face?
No. This is a true '90s oval, not a micro frame — the lens is compact but proportional, and the blade temples sit wide. It reads deliberate on wider faces and delicate on narrower ones. The one shape it doesn't flatter is a round face, and we say so on this page rather than at the returns desk.
Is the tint too dark for driving?
No. It's a neutral-density flat tint — everyday daylight category, no gradient and no colour cast, so lights and signage stay true. If you want a lens you can wear indoors, this isn't it. This one is built for actual sun.
Will they slide down in the heat?
The acetate tips are heat-set with a slight curve behind the ear, and the spring hinge keeps steady inward pressure rather than gripping hard. They hold through a hot afternoon and a full head of hair. They are not sports goggles — don't run a marathon in them.
What's in the box?
The frame, a protective case and a microfibre cloth. No plastic clamshell, no sticker over the lens you have to peel off in the car.
What if I hate them on?
Send them back within 30 days, unworn outside and in the case, and we close it out. No interrogation, no restocking games. We'd rather have the frame back than a bad photo of it on the internet.
